The symptoms themselves are visible from the discoloration of the nails become somewhat yellowish or whitish, followed by frequent breaks, easily broken, jagged, flaking, smelling, to more dark and dull-colored.

  1. Make it a habit to wash the hands after touching the affected fungal toenails so they don’t spread to other nails.
  2. For painted nails, use good quality remover solution.
  3. Soak the nails in warm soapy water, then remove the cuticle.

However, treatment for fungal toenail is relatively slow and it takes for around six to 12 months for complete healing. These medications help the new nail grows and free from infection, slowly replacing the infected nails.

In some cases, even healing does not occur at all when stepping on the 12 weeks. Recurrent infections are very possible, especially if it continues to let her nails in the sultry and humid conditions. Doctors usually categorize this people which requires a systemic anti-fungal.
