What is Sprained Ankle?
Sprained Ankle is a ligament injury around the ankle joint. Ligaments are flexible and strong fibers that connect bones to bones. When an ankle ligament is traumatized or injured so that it is torn or stretched too far, the ankle joint will become sore and swollen.

Elevation. Elevate the sprained ankle higher than the heart, this will reduce or minimize swelling. For example when the ankle is sprained then when lying on foot prop with a pillow such that it is taller than the chest.
